Analog Glass on Digital Cameras

What's that saying?

"Cameras may come and go, but glass is forever."

Or something like that. The bottom line is that it's true. My investment in SLR lenses has also paid off handsomely for my digital shooting. With a plentiful supply of adapters available, I can mount any of my Zeiss optics on any of my interchangeable-lens digital cameras... and get an entirely different look.

Zeiss 85mm f/2.8 Sonnar on an Olympus OM-D. Effective focal length is 170mm at f/2.8.

And the kicker is, that I can get Zeiss lenses on the used market for a fraction of the cost that I would spend for a comparable optic for a current Sony mirrorless body. I recently picked up a Zeiss Tessar 45mm f/2.8 for less than $250. It's an amazing, legendary optic that I can use on all of my Contax SLRs, as well as my Olympus and Canon digitals.

Ah, the joy of a beautiful lens...
