I guess that I was a little out of practice with rangefinder cameras when I took this shot. I had the Contax G1 set up on a bar table with the self-timer ticking away. I had to bend down at an awkward angle to compose the image. But from what I could tell, everything looked good.
As the timer light was flashing, fellow photographer Steve Huff walked by and asked:
"What are you doing?"
"I'm capturing a shot of this great bar interior."
"Oh, really? Well you might want to take the lens cap off then."
He smiled and continued on his way. Oh yeah, the lens cap. This is a rangefinder camera, not an SLR. Hopefully I'll never need to learn that lesson again.
